Young filmmaker premieres new feature “DETACHED” this Friday!

Filmmaker Stephen French from Woodstock, VA will screen his feature film DEATCHED at the Alamo with a live Q&A!

Writer & Director Stephen French was born in Woodstock, Virginia, in 1999. He has always been interested in the telling of stories, whether through drawing, writing, or film-making. This interest was fostered at a young age when his father began introducing him to classic suspense films. Stephen liked old Vincent Price horror movies, and was particularly influenced by Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho". Since then, Stephen has made over 150 short films and has written numerous screenplays, including his first feature length movie "Detached", at the age of 14. He is currently a freshman at Central High School in Woodstock, Virginia.

About "DETACHED":

Jessie Lacey's husband has just passed away, and she has become socially and mentally isolated as a result. Following a friend's recommendation, she travels to a small Bed and Breakfast to get some time away from it all. She grows to like the innkeepers, and a weekend trip grows to a week long one. In this week, Jessie will come to realize that the innkeepers are not who they say they are.

The Alamo is proud to present "DETACHED" at 7 pm on Friday, September 13.  Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door on the night of the show.  Director Stephen French will be on hand for a live Q&A following the screening.
