O brother, this feast is bona fide!

We don't want to sound like a buncha Johnny Comelatelys braggin' on our own midget, but our O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU Feast on Dec 16 is going to hit harder than a tree branch upside the head.  Our team of talented Alamo chefs have put together a meal fit for Pappy O’Daniel himself, paired with a special screening of the Coen brothers farcical take on Homer's The Odyssey. If you're feeling a mite peckish, let us bed down your appetite with a multi-course feast inspired by the movie.  Oh, and don't worry, we're not actually using any horse or gopher meat (horses are far too majestic to eat and gophers are harder to catch than we thought).  Check out the menu below.

Appetizer Beef and gravy on toast points (prison food), pulled porkraised brisket (greasy horse) and gopher grits (gopher)

Soup Frog “you thought it was a toad” Jambalaya

Entrée Chicken fricassee with greens, spicy corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes

Dessert Giant peach pie fresh off the sill, served on newspaper

*Each course features fresh, locally sourced ingredients.  All courses will include drink pairings (to be announced soon!)

It'd be the acme of foolishness to miss out on this!  If the menu doesn't have you sold, this screening will also feature an intro by Austin American-Statesman Food Writer extraordinaire Addie Broyles and a portion of ticket proceeds will benefit Capital Area Food Bank.  If that ain't bona fide, then we don't know what is!
