The Alamo Drafthouse is a company that's dedicated to its local community. This week's devestating floods have left many Coloradoans without food, shelter, and supplies and we want to contribute our efforts to aid our beautiful state in this time of need.
We've designated this Sunday, September 22 as a special benefit day to raise money to aid in local relief efforts. From 10:00am in the morning to our last show at 10:45, the Alamo will donate 10% of ALL ticket, food and beverage sales to the Colorado chapter of the Red Cross.
Additionally, on Friday, September 20 through Sunday, September 22, we will be collecting canned food in our lobby for the Community Food Share in Niwot, Colorado which serves the area hit hardest by this natural disaster. The CFS is requesting the following items: Canned fruit, 100% fruit juice, cold and hot cereal, canned tuna/fish and meat, canned chili and stew, pasta sauce and peanut butter. To ease in this process, we ask that no household items or clothing be dropped off at this time. We urge you to visit their website to find additional ways you can help.
“There has been tremendous loss and damage in so many Colorado communities," says Alamo Littleton Owner Tom DeFrancia. "As a Boulder resident I have witnessed the devastation and the tremendous response of the community pulling together to help one another. Our Alamo community wants to do what we can to help as well.”
A variety of films will be playing all day long for the benefit including: PRISONERS, THE FAMILY, INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2, RIDDICK, THE WORLD’S END, LEE DANIELS’ THE BUTLER, WE’RE THE MILLERS and a special screening of the feel-good sports classic HOOSIERS at 6:40pm. Tickets and showtimes are available on our website.
Please join us at the Drafthouse to make this weekend one that really counts for Colorado!
