Hello muddah, hello faddah… here I am at Camp Alamo

All you need to know to enjoy this face-smashing explosion of summer time merriment!

Hello muddah, hello faddah… here I am at Camp Alamo

Alamo Goes to Camp, Saturday 8/27

Tickets are $45 and will be available here starting Thursday, August 4.

The Alamo Drafthouse is about to destroy every sweet sentiment you have ever had about summer camp with one debaucherous day. Check-in for camp starts at 3:30pm on a beautiful patch of riverfront land at the Guadalupe Canoe Livery. Expect your first few hours at camp to be crammed with an absolute barrage of summer fun. We don’t want to give too much away, but you can definitely count on the most epic Capture the Flag battle in the long history of summer camp.

Sure, it’s Texas in August, so you know it’s gonna be hot…. But that’s okay because you’ll have plenty of chances to cool off and take a break from this face-smashing explosion of summer time merriment by taking a dip in the lazy Guadalupe whenever you feel like it. Plus, there’ll be a massive Water Gun Fight, shady spots to play badminton or bocce, and a chilled out arts and crafts station where you can craft letters to home. Hello muddah, hello faddah…

Your ticket to the camp gets you a whole lotta goodness for just $45. On top of all the games and hijinx, you get a one-of-a-kind camp uniform that includes a specially designed camp T-shirt and matching tube socks, along with a big, yummy camp-themed dinner cooked up by Alamo Chef John Bullington. We promise you didn’t eat anything this good at summer camp when you were a kid:

Alamo Goes to Camp Dinner Menu

Parmesan Meatballs Sandwich with Roasted Tomato Sauce and Provolone Cheese

Napa Cabbage Slaw

Campfire Beans

S’mores

And of course you get movies! THREE OF ‘EM, starting at sundown! Be sure to bring a blanket or camping chair to collapse on for the THREE cinematic summer camp masterpieces all on 35mm.  First up is the 1981's slasher disaster THE BURNING, followed by the sublime WTF-ery of MEATBALLS 2.  And to close our illegally outrageous day of sunbaked debaucherous wildness, we'll present an incredibly rare 35mm screening of the most twisted camp clas-sick in the books: the original SLEEPAWAY CAMP

We strongly encourage everyone to pack a tent and make a night of it. It is a long drive home to Austin or San Antonio and we are going to be up late! Campsites will be available and arrangements can be made with the Guadalupe Canoe Livery. It’s just $2 more for a campsite with your Alamo Goes to Camp admission!

And of course, we’ll have our very own Camp Store open all day on site for any other provisions you might need to get you through the long day at camp – but please be sure to bring cash!
