In 2006, director Chris Paine released the critically acclaimed documentary WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR? — an exploration into the creation and subsequent failure of the battery electric vehicle in the United States. Five years later and Paine is back with REVENGE OF THE ELECTRIC CAR, a new documentary that follows a group of entrepreneurs as they attempt to breathe life into the electric car market during the added challenge of a global recession.

Bob Lutz from General Motors, Elon Musk from Tesla Motors, Carlos Ghosn from Nissan and Greg Abbott, an independent force in the electric car scene are the four protagonists of Paine’s new documentary.

The film had its premiere at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival – timed with Earth Day. Over the last month, the movie has slowly been making its way across the country — spreading hope of a future full of battery-powered vehicles.

The Alamo Drafthouse at Mason Park is very happy to be bringing Houston audiences a chance to catch the new film this November. For three days, we’ll have nightly screenings of the film at our Katy location. Come and watch as Paine revisits the discussion left of with WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR? and get a peek at what the future might hold for environmentally friendly vehicles.
