October is packed with amazing films and events at the Alamo Drafthouse! 

October events announced

October is full of family-friendly events, classic and new horror, audience participation events, TV broadcasts on the biggest screen in town, and more.  Here is a full list for this exciting month.

 

Alamo Uncorked

Northern Virginia Daily presents a series of films accompanied by guest speakers and optional wine flights.  Shows are at 6:30 pm each Sunday in October.

 

Oct. 2 – An American in Paris, with guest host Charlie Fish from Murphy’s Beverage

Oct. 9 – Letters to Juliet, with guest host Charlie Fish from Murphy’s Beverage

Oct. 16 – Young Frankenstein, with guest hosts Michael and Marie Janow of D’Vine Wines

Oct. 23 – The Cotton Club, with guest host Michael and Marie Janow of D’Vine Wines

Oct. 30 – Psycho, with guest host Charlie Fish from Murphy’s Beverage

 

Pajama Parties

Wear your pajamas and spend Saturday morning with a movie with optional all-you-can-eat cereal!

Sing-Alongs

The Action Pack presents films and collections of videos with live microphones, on-screen lyrics, and props to help you be a part of the action. 

 

Su, Oct. 2 – GREASE.  Sing-along with the classic musical.  Eveyone gets candy cigarettes, bubbles, balloons and more.

Weds, Oct. 5 – MICHAEL JACKSON.  2 hours of Michael Jackson videos.

Su, Oct. 9 – JOHN LENNON.  Everyone gets Lennon-like glasses as we sing-along to 2 hours of John Lennon and Beatles videos on John Lennon’s birthday.

Washington, DC’s favorite family entertainer comes to the Alamo!  The Great Zucchini has played the White House, 9:30 Club, and DC Improv, and his hilarious magic show is great for kids of all ages. 

 

Sa, Oct 8:  Movie premiere:  Your Last Six Inches

The locally-made short  was filmed in part at the Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester.  Join the cast and crew of the movie for the premiere.

 

Weds, Oct. 12:  Shawn of the Dead Quote-Along

 

Weds, Oct 19: Girlie Night:  Splash

Bring your girlfriends and watch the 1984 Tom Hanks/Daryl Hannah film Splash, complete with a girlie drink menu!

 

Sa, Oct. 22: The Worst Movie Ever!

Back by popular demand, this film includes Santa, an evil robot, and musical numbers.  You need to see it to believe it.

 

Weds, Oct. 26: Horror Remix: Zombi 2

Free admission!  Join puppet MC’s Cheesecake and Thunderclap to make fun of two hours of lousy horror films.

 

Weds, Oct. 26:  RUSH: Time Machine

A new concert-based film featuring the band Rush.  This theatrical screening includes content not featured in the TV version.

 

Th, Oct. 27: Bloodshots

A competition open to local filmmakers.  More details coming soon.

Sa, Oct 29: Thrill the World and Kernstown Trick-or-Treat

Bring the kids to trick-or-treat around the business in Kernstown Commons.  Thrill the World is our annual attempt to help break the world record for most people to simultaneously dance the dance from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video!
