Taking film to new heights.

What I love about VerticalVision™ is just how tight the frame is, allowing you to focus on just the one thing you want the audience to see. For too long filmmakers have been saddled with the constraints and extraneous details of widescreen – long live tall screen. Paul Thomas Anderson

THE MOST ASTOUNDINGLY #TALL CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE

Look up and watch the future with us. The average cinema screen is 50’ wide. VerticalVision™ is 50’ tall.

Expected to open this summer in Los Angeles, Alamo Drafthouse’s first VerticalVision™ auditorium will have 205 recliner seats and 41 rows. It utilizes a state-of-the-art sideways-mounted Barco VTS-50L Laser projection system optimized for very tall screens.

We’re working with studios and filmmakers to bring their visions to screen with brand-new content, as well as artfully cropped reworkings of classic films.

79% of novice vertical video consumers agreed that the format is more engaging, and said they would choose the vertical format in most cases...Therefore, it's more important than ever to prioritize bringing creative ideas to life in the vertical space. FACEBOOK BUSINESS

VerticalVision™ auditoriums also feature the ability, via the Alamo Drafthouse app for iOS and Android, to dynamically add virtual stickers and GIFs to the screen on the fly.

FRANCHISING

VerticalVision™ isn’t limited to Alamo Drafthouse locations. We plan to make this format available for museums, theme parks, government institutions, and other exhibitors.
