The biggest question we keep hearing is: “Where should I park?” Well Kansas City, we have been hard on the job trying to find you the best solution for all your parking needs. For most, your best bet is the Power & Light Parking Garage located on 13th between Walnut and Grand. This is the closest parking garage in The Power and Light Area that we do validate; our $5 validation is good three hours and should provide you with enough time to catch a movie and grab a drink in the Chesterfield! Just ask our box office staff to validate your garage ticket and we will hook you up! If you want to spend all day at Alamo Drafthouse (and we hope you do!), the Power & Light Parking Garage located on 13th between Walnut and Grand offers $5 PARKING EVERY DAY and at ANY TIME with validation. Just look for the $5 Parking Neon, or follow this map to the P1 parking garage marked in blue.
Another parking option is the H&R Block Parking Garage located at 13th and Main Street. We also validate for this location on on weekdays after 6pm and all day weekends for up to 3 hours. This may sometimes be subject to change based on events.
If you don’t mind a bit of a walk, then you can find plenty of free street-parking starting after 6pm all around our beautiful theater, our favorite being the parking spots on 14th and Baltimore, but those can fill up quickly on the weekend and during events.
You can also take the free KC Streetcar! Running from the River Market on the north end to Union Station and Crown Center on the south, KC Streetcar connects all the downtown neighborhoods with 16 platform stops and 2 miles of track.
