You can see AIRPLANE! on the big screen this Wednesday at Market Square Park as part of our Rolling Roadshow series. We’re screening the classic comedy under the night sky so grab a blanket or some chairs, pack a few snacks and make your way to historic Market Square Park for a free screening of one of the funniest movies ever filmed. Looks like you picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
In 2010, Kathryn Bigelow made history when she became the first woman to receive an Academy Award for Best Director for her work on THE HURT LOCKER. Since beating her ex-husband James Cameron and his film AVATAR, Bigelow (who also directed the classic POINT BREAK) has had her pick of projects – her name being linked to multiple notable projects over the last few years. No matter how much success and adoration from movie fans Bigelow will come to enjoy, she was already a hero to horror fans for her 1987 film NEAR DARK.
Don’t wait for the inevitable American remake. If you are a fan of thrillers, THE CHASER is a must watch – and we have the best method for you to do so. Presented as part of our East Meets West Oaks series, THE CHASER will screen in 35mm this Sunday, May 13 at West Oaks. Watching an Asian action film on the big screen in beautiful 35mm? Nope, I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday either.
