In honor of the Fourth of July, Broadway Brunch gets patriotic with a screening of the 1942 musical YANKEE DOODLE DANDY.

This rousing classic tells the true story of George M. Cohan, a composer, playwright and performer considered to be the father of American musical comedy. Utilizing Cohan's impressive catalog of songs, including "Give My Regards to Broadway" and "You're a Grand Old Flag," the film follows the colorful life of "the man who owned Broadway" (played with panache by James Cagney) from his early days in vaudeville to the peak of his success.

Also starring the captivating talents of Joan Leslie and Irene Manning, this exuberant musical has "a song for every star, and a star for every stripe" and will leave you dancing down stairs for days to come. (Sarah Pitre)
