Anthony Hickcox’s 1988 horror comedy WAXWORK is – as the poster says – more fun than a barrel full of mummies.

Zach Galligan stars as Mark Loftmore, a rich teenage yuppie who, along with his gang of high school pals, visits a creepy wax museum run by a curator (David Warner) with a penchant for dressing like Willy Wonka. Inside the museum exists a collection of horrifying figures of every monster known to man. From Dracula to the Marques de Sade, the exhibits call unto the teens – one by one transporting them into the past where the students must face the monster in the flesh.

Join us for a super, super rare 35mm screening of one of my all-time favorite horror films of the ‘80s. WAXWORK is just so damn entertaining – featuring over-the-top graphic practical effects and a plot designed to maximize the amount of monster mayhem contained in one film. Heck, the scene in which John Rhys-Davies turns into a werewolf and rips a man’s head in half is worth the price of admission alone.
