Exclusive, one-of-a-kind MUMMY posters from MONDO will be available to purchase at the first screening.
Boris Karloff delivers a performance for the eons as the title character in this still-underrated Universal horror. Though shocking at times, it’s surprisingly (for many) reserved and atmospheric. Universal made a whole raft of mummy movies in the ‘40s that feel like silly monster cartoons, but the original MUMMY is tasteful, romantic, weird and tragic in ways that are beautifully cinematic. At its heart is the immortal Karloff, an actor of rare power and subtlety. His performance here is among his best, and that’s saying something. (Lars)
