All through the month of May, we're slowing it down. For the ladies.
That's right, at all of our weekly '80s Sing-Alongs this month, we're celebrating the slow jams of the '80s with our specially themed '80s PROM PARTIES!
So guys, it's time to dust off that bright blue tux you bought at a thrift store fifteen years ago. Ladies, you know that really terrible dress you had to buy for that one wedding? The one that's somehow teal and pink at the same time, and has those big, hideous shoulder pads? That's PERFECT! We want everyone to come out dressed to impress in clothes that should make us depressed, showing off allllll of your '80s prom fashion sense.
We'll have costume contests at the start of each show, and our Action Pack hosts will even snap some pics of the winning couple as they dance as King and Queen of the '80s prom so that we can share them with everyone on our Action Pack Facebook page.
And Austin audiences, get this: C3 is giving us tickets to give away to CYNDI LAUPER live at Stubb's on June 25th! She's playing with Hunter Valentine and celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the album She's So Unusual, so you know that we'll be giving away tickets to the girls (and boys) who wanna have fun and our dressed up to prove it!
Expect some special jams in these shows that we may not get a chance to play again until next spring, too. We'll have some slow jam favorites, like Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight," and we'll also have some EXTREMELY slow songs like, potentially, even some Enya. Yeah, it's gonna be that kind of party!
But don't worry, we'll be picking it up again throughout the night, too, so you can thrash around in your awesome dresses and tuxedoes and really show those chaperones that you know how to go crazy! (Henri Mazza)
