America's girlfriend (Reese Witherspoon) is dating America's boyfriends (Tom Hardy and Chris Pine) in McG's CIA thriller meets romantic comedy THIS MEANS WAR. It's great to have McG back in the director's chair for a new high-adrenaline blast after a three-year directing hiatus during which he mainly produced. Pine and Hardy play CIA operatives and best friends, until they discover they're both dating the same woman. Despite a gentlemen's agreement, the two agents use all of the considerable firepower at their disposal to destroy each other's romantic prospects, and the situation goes amok with a quickness.
With three hugely likable lead actors and guest starring turns from the hilarious Chelsea Handler alongside Angela Bassett, David Koechner (Todd Packer!) and Laura Vandervoort, THIS MEANS WAR bridges that mysterious gap between action and romance, with loads of laughs thrown in for good measure.
