More Info IMDb

Noted miserable bastard & fascinating artsploitation crossover director Andy Milligan has been getting a lot of attention recently.

No less a figure than DRIVE auteur Nicolas Winding Refn has helped to goad the highbrow film establishment into at least acknowledging that Milligan was actually a filmmaker and not just a walking garbage can, which is a major step forward for Milligan’s reputation. Though the late Milligan was reportedly an insufferable, sadistic human being - a fact reflected in all his movies - he was also a writer/director with an uncommonly pure vision.

A vision of universal hatred perhaps, but a vision. Here he indulges himself by writing some of the most lucid passages in his career-long bible of discontent.

It’s the Jekyll & Hyde story, more or less, with heaping helpings of the Milligan trademarks: misanthropic ranting and near-constant bickering. This is the life. (Lars)
