THE GREY is sure to be THE wolf-punching film of the season, as Liam Neeson tussles with ol' canis lupis with little more than some tricked out knuckles and his own general awesomeness. A recently widowed Ottway (Neeson) is in a plane that crashes in the icy, remote Alaskan wilderness. Ottway must lead a rough group of oil rig workers (including Dylan McDermott and Frank Grillo) through the bleak landscape, battling severe injuries, devastating weather conditions, starvation and a group of hungry, ferocious wolves that are ever on their trail.
THE GREY reunites writer/director Joe Carnahan with producers Tony and Ridley Scott, who previously worked together on THE A-TEAM. But most importantly, it reunites Liam Neeson with that role he knows best; the stoic everyman who will fight for survival with everything he has. (Meredith Borders)
