Be a mensch!

A young upstart, C.C. Baxter (Jack Lemmon), will do anything to move up in the world...even loan out his apartment to the higher-ups for their romantic flings and extramarital trysts. All seems relatively fine and dandy until C.C. finds a romance of his own.

Billy Wilder is a genius—there aren't enough words in the world to describe all the films he's made and express how much he means to cinema—but, in 1960, Billy Wilder wrote and directed a perfect movie. I'm not saying this to sell you on the idea of seeing this film at the Alamo; I'm stating it as a fact. There are very few instances where you watch a movie and realize you are witnessing pure magnificence in that moment. Sometimes you think about a movie after the fact, and it gets better and better until you begin to love a movie you previously only really liked. THE APARTMENT is NOT one of those movies. It is a movie where, within 15 minutes of watching, you realize it is unlike anything you have ever seen before. Jack Lemmon is amazing, Shirley MacLaine is a full-on pixie, super babe, and the chemistry and dialogue snaps and sparkles like you wouldn't believe. The print we're showing is incredible, and, if that's not enough for you, Bill Norris is whipping up some handcrafted cocktails for you to enjoy while you get swept up in the power of true cinema.

So, if you're looking for a reason to impress that special someone (or just treat yourself), look no further! Sit back, relax, and let Billy Wilder and The Alamo Drafthouse do all the heavy lifting for you. Movie-wise, there has never been anything like it--laugh-wise, love-wise, or otherwise-wise!
