Hong Kong action coupled with groundbreaking, action-film-redefining special effects combine to make one of the coolest, if not THE COOLEST, action/sci-fi film of all-time. Keanu Reeves was made for this role, Joey Pants is a god and Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith could quite possibly be one of the greatest villains to walk onto the silver screen.

Take the red pill and journey down the rabbit hole to 1999 when special effects were actually used FOR something and action movies were still awesome. See Neo go from everyday computer hacker to demi-god with the help of Morpheus and Trinity as he awakens to find his reality is nothing like it seems.

So many people fell in love with what the future of action cinema could be when they first saw the original in 1999. When The Matrix's subsequent sequels came out, few had any recourse but to be disappointed. The expectation was too high and seeing a wild 180 that plays out like the most beautifully illustrated philosophy lesson of all-time was not what they had signed up for. But there is so much to love in The Matrix Reloaded that we went back to rewatch it and then gave The Matrix Revolutions a try. Again many were disappointed but I am here to tell you, YOU ARE WRONG.

The Matrix Trilogy is one of the greatest cinematic gifts the Wachowski's have bestowed upon the history of film and it's high-time we are reminded of it. So Tough Guy Cinema is filing all you red pill takers intoa full day of bliss as we bare witness to the rise of an everyman into a god who can fly, stop bullets and knows a whole fuckload of kung fu.
