What happens when a bad-boy gang leader falls in love with a sweet young ingenue? In real life, such a situation rarely ends happily. But when the guy was John Travolta, the girl was Olivia Newton-John and the story was called GREASE, the result was sheer movie magic.

Released in June 1978, just as school was letting out, GREASE was an instant blockbuster that became the Must-See Movie of the season. It then took all of Hollywood by surprise as it continued to make big money most of the rest of the year. Before it opened, many wondered if GREASE would do as well at the box office as Travolta's SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER had done six months before; the question seemed laughable shortly afterward, as GREASE brought in nearly $160 million at the box office -- in a time when even the top ticket prices were still under $4.

Although set in the 1950s and released in the 1970s, as we all know, GREASE is pretty much timeless. Its appeal has spread over decades and crossed generations. The kids who feel in love with it in 1978 have since introduced it to their children and grandchildren, and the film has always been a sure-fire crowd-pleaser.

With SING-A-LONG-A GREASE, we're taking it to the next step: You can be a part of the show. Don't leave all the singing to John, Olivia, Stockard and company -- join in! You know the words... and, in case you forget a few, we'll put them all right up there on the screen so you can follow along.

Declare you're "Hopelessly Devoted" to Danny. Wail along when "Sandy" walks out of the drive-in. Defy the local gossips when you declare "There Are Worse Things I Could Do." And celebrate true love by insisting "You're the One That I Want."

To enhance this GREASE-y good time, we'll provide a bag of props and the liveliest hosts and hostesses this side of Vince Fontaine and National bandstand. If you joined us for our SING-ALONG-A SOUND OF MUSIC spectaculars in May, you know what to expect. So grab your tickets now, because, as those Rydell High kids always say, "We go together!"
