We're delighted that Guy Ritchie gave up on making another British gangster film (for now, at least) and focused on a sequel to the huge hit from 2009, SHERLOCK HOLMES, based on the brain-meltingly brilliant fictional detective and his long-suffering partner in crime, Dr. Watson. Pairing up again are Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Watson; this time they're back to solve their most enigmatic mystery yet, run in slow motion, wear dresses and look pretty. As you know, Holmes will go any distance to solve the case.
Downey Jr. and Law have delicious chemistry together, and A GAME OF SHADOWS features the true villain of the Holmes saga, the mysterious Professor Moriarty. With co-starring turns by Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace (also known as the original Lisbeth Salander), SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS is sure to be a bloody blast.
"As Johnny Depp has done so brilliantly with his devilish Jack Sparrow, Downey has made this sly sardonic Sherlock stylistically all his own. Case closed."--Betsy Sharkey, LOS ANGELES TIMES
"This new outing matches the original Sherlock in wit, action and the bromance between Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law."--Joy Tipping, DALLAS MORNING NEWS
"A Game of Shadows keeps everything that made the first film great and improves on it."--Alex Zane, SUN ONLINE
