Off-Centered Film Festival presents an intimate evening with the Lonely Island’s Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone.

It is a great honor to welcome the esteemed Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone to the Alamo Drafthouse for an evening of merriment , beer and dicks in boxes.  Rest assured: everything will be awesome.

The wackadoo genius of the Lonely Island’s comedy used to be something I cherished sitting alone on my computer, where I would send the link to “Just 2 Guyz” to everyone I could in order to have people to quote it with.  The early work they did on Channel101 will forever have its fingerprints on internet comedy.

When they made the jump to writers and cast members of Saturday Night Live my private comedy secret was out in the open and they took that sacred platform to revitalize the show with quirky weirdness, most notably with their unique and prolific Digital Shorts.

I watched along with the rest of the nation as they soared to internet and television stardom, I cherished with their mega-hit packed albums, I camped out in line as they took MacGruber to the big screen and cheered at the perfect satire that is Ras Trent.  The party guys have graced us with The Bing Bong Brothers, Motherlovers, the Like A Boss guy and of course the video that defined the day of a week for a generation: Lazy Sunday.

The dudes have an Emmy for crying out loud.  They have jumped from needing doughy comedy nerds like me sending their links around the ‘net to carrying the torch to the masses.    These are brilliant sketch comedy peeps and even more brilliant fake rappers.

Thursday April the 24th we are gathering in Fiesta Gardens to celebrate the 7-year anniversary of their silver-screen opus HOT ROD, but Friday April the 25th we are offering a rare chance to hang out, drink Dogfish Head beers and take a trip down digital memory lane with the guys with some of our favorite works as well as a few surprises!

Join us for an intimate, irreverent and wildly entertaining evening of goofy faces, white boy rap on boats, and laser cats.  Cool beans y’all. (John Gross)
