This short film competition is as far from the mainstream as 90-Minute I.P.A. is from a mass-produced macro-rice brew!

Each year, the short film competition component of the Off-Centered Film Festival is a time for filmmakers and beer enthusiasts alike to come together and find common ground. The rules: Each entry had to include Dogfish Head and be generally “off-centered,” and this year each entry also had to have a “hip-hop” twist. With so much room for interpretation, we had a wide array of fantastic entries from all over the world!

Speaking of which: THANK YOU to EVERYONE who took time to get out a video camera, bugged their friends and drank beer for the sake of a great Off-Centered short film entry! It was a trill year for both the quality and the quantity of submissions and, as you can imagine, it was tough to narrow the field down.

The jury has already selected the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place films, which will receive cash and prizes to be announced at the April 20th screening.  We’re flying down all of the winners to be on hand for the announcement and to show them all a good Austin time while they are in town for the festival!

SO… wet your whistle with hip-hop beer shorts (heavy on the hops) and join us for a fun evening hosted by Dogfish Head's Sam Calagione. There is always some wild stuff on screen, so you’re going to want to see it all with a crowd and a tasty special Dogfish Head beer! The films this year are all over the place in terms of off-centeredness and a total blast to watch.

Since this is a film AND beer festival, there will also be amazingly rare Dogfish Head beers available at the screening. Be there for the exciting conclusion to learn who will take the glory and the copious booty of First, Second, and Third places.

Get your tickets now – hop to it!
