Director Alexander Payne's (SIDEWAYS, THE DESCENDANTS) latest effort includes his usual mix of human drama and dark comedy.

After receiving a sweepstakes letter in the mail, a cantankerous father (Bruce Dern) thinks he's struck it rich, and wrangles his son (Will Forte) into taking a road trip to claim the fortune. While the plot sounds like a barrel-of-laughs, odd couple situation Payne's deft touch allows t to be so much more.

Shot in stark, beautiful black and white, NEBRASKA tells the stories of family life in the heartland of America.

"Payne brings rigorous, often goofily amusing insight to this portrayal of his home state...[pulling] off something masterful, meaningful and poetic." -Ann Hornaday, The Washington Post

"Poignant and funny...Bruce Dern gives the performance of his life." -Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times
