Eschewing a "VH1 Where are They Now?" approach, director Gorman Bechard tells the story of the influential '80s indie-rock band, The Replacements, instead through the eyes of the band's friends, fans, and contemporaries.  Dubbed “the last best band” by Spin Magazine, The Replacements' live shows could be miraculous or downright disasters, and while they amassed critical accolades and a cult of devoted fans, the band never quite achieved the commercial success that seemed at times within their grasp.  Combining over 140 interviews with rockers (like Colin Meloy of The Decemberists, Craig Finn of The Hold Steady), journalists, and fans both famous and not, Bechard delivers the obsessive tale of the most influential band you may have never heard of -- or, to the already devoted, one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
