Austin City Limits @ The Alamo: New and Classic Episodes on the Big Screen

Sponsored by Austin's greatest music store, End of an Ear Records, and Austin's most essential vintage furniture and decor store, Room Service.

He may be gone, but The Man in Black is far from forgotten. The man, the myth, the legend, the one and only JOHNNY MUTH@F*#%IN' CASH would have been 80 years old this year. To celebrate this momentous occasion, our friends at Austin City Limits are presenting a roaring Birthday Tribute Show featuring Johnny Cash and the Carter Family's full, uncut 1987 performance on ACL. It's one Cash himself considered to be one of his finest TV performances, and includes renditions of such mega-classics as "I Walk the Line," "Ring of Fire," and "Folsom Prison Blues," plus tons of other rarities and highlights like a duet with wife June ("Where Did We go Right?)," a heart-breaking cover of John Prine's "Sam Stone," and a crowd-pleasing version of the cowboy anthem "Ghost Riders in the Sky."  Essential viewing for Johnny Cash fans of all degrees.

The second half of the program will feature the classic '90s Outlaw Country Singer/Songwriter featuring performances by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Billie Joe Shaver, Kris Kristofferson, and more!

All proceeds benefit HAAM, the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians.
