This is the beginning our months-long Saturday afternoon COMPLETE MARX BROTHERS RETROSPECTIVE! A new Marx picture every Saturday afternoon for as long as it takes. A likely story — and probably true!

Outside of a dog, movies are man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to watch movies.

THE COCOANUTS, the Marx Brothers’ very first film, finds Groucho trying to save his fast-sinking Florida hotel but things don’t go the way he plans. Zeppo is the desk clerk, Chico is an "idle roomer" and Harpo is his silent partner. Groucho takes on Chico as his shill to try and up the price of his questionable real estate (prompting the famous "Why a duck?" scene) as various guests try to swindle one another.

No other comedy team has ever quite reached the absurd peaks of lunacy first conquered by the brothers Marx. See where it all began for the greatest comedy team of all time in this eminently watchable madcap meteor of fun.
