More Info IMDb

We all know that in terms of wild and vivid cinematic imagination, the 1980s represented the apex of all creative endeavors anywhere, at anytime: past, present, or utopian future. Never has this been more instantly recognizable than in HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS, where the modern, mundane world suddenly becomes gargantuan and totally mystifying. Wayne Szalinski (Rick Moranis) is a proud father of two and scientist on the verge of a major discovery, the ability to miniaturize people and things to insect-like proportions. What is the exact purpose of his scientific endeavor? Well, it’s not entirely clear, but when his son and daughter accidentally zap themselves into miniatures, their backyard becomes an untamed jungle and the fight for survival begins. How do you tell your wife that your big breakthrough invention might have endangered the lives of your wonderfully precious children? You just look her in the eye and say, “Honey, I shrunk the kids.”
