More Info IMDb

Dave Lizewski (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) has learned nothing from the events of KICK-ASS. Despite finding out that the life of a real-life superhero is nothing but broken bones and bruised ribs, Lizewski still spends his nights dressed in a costume, patrolling the city and looking for criminals to fight.

Kick-Ass is now joined by Hit Girl, the murderous adolescent assassin played by Chloë Grace Moretz, and a stable of new homemade vigilantes including Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), Doctor Gravity (Donald Faison), Battle Guy (Clark Duke) and more.

Unfortunately, Kick-Ass' old enemy the Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) has been assembling his own team. Soon, New York City will become a battleground between an army of vigilantes and a wave of super villains.

Based on the popular comic book by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., KICK-ASS 2 is a violent comedy that explores the real-life consequences of a culture so obsessed with superheroes they begin creating their own.

A Little Controversy to Start the Week

It’s telling that Pixar guru John Lasseter counts Japanese Studio Ghibli master Hayao Miyazaki as his key influence.  If animation in the United States ever has a chance to be something more than instantly devalued as a “children’s” medium, it’s in their hands.

Paul Feig

Natty in suit and tie and fresh from an introduction (to a group of high-schoolers, natch) of his new film I Am David, Feig impresses with an open intelligence, an engaging charisma, and what appears to be a genuine appreciation for where he is in his career and life.
