In Albany, heroic firefighter Caleb and his wife Catherine are suffering a marriage crisis and they decide to divorce. However, Caleb's father, John, proposes that Caleb delay their separation for forty days in order to follow a procedure called "The Love Dare," so they can learn to fall in love all over again.
