CONTRABAND

Mark Wahlberg leads a solid ensemble cast in CONTRABAND, the new crime drama by Baltasar Kormákur (SUMMERLAND). CONTRABAND is based on the critically acclaimed 2009 Icelandic thriller REYKJAVIK-ROTTERDAM, starring Kormákur and boasting one of the biggest budgets of any film from Iceland ever. 

Wahlberg plays Chris Farraday, a former smuggler who's gone clean and raised a family with his beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale). But when his brother-in-law gets in trouble with a crime boss (Giovanni Ribisi), Farraday implicates himself in the smuggling of millions of dollars in counterfeit bills to protect his family from danger. Farraday assembles a team of his old accomplices and must quickly determine if he still has the crime chops to pull off this last job. 

Co-starring Ben Foster (3:10 TO YUMA), Lukas Haas (BRICK), J.K. Simmons (SPIDER-MAN) and Diego Luna (Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN), CONTRABAND is an ensemble crime thriller that delivers big time. (Meredith Borders)
