Ah, the magic of prom night. The formal dresses. The tuxedos. The corsages. The limos. The pig blood.

OK, so that last item isn't usually prominent at most proms -- unless you're the unfortunate Carrie White, the young lady who was never so much pretty in pink as she was raging in red.

In 1976, Sissy Spacek became an overnight star playing Carrie, the unloved teenage outcast victimized by her callous classmates and her religious fanatic mother. Now, Chloe Grace Moretz (the KICK-ASS films, LET ME IN, DARK SHADOWS) takes on the role in a remake, directed by Kimberly Peirce (BOYS DON'T CRY): Julianne Moore plays Carrie's mom.

This version is more faithful to Stephen King's original novel, which tells how the initially timid Carrie learns to harness her telekinetic powers to punish her enemies and tear apart her hometown.
