Blood Thirsty Thursday brings you the best in Slasher and Horror movies and this month we are proud to presnt THE FLY!

It’s been twenty-five years since David Cronenberg co-wrote and directed The Fly, a rare remake that equals (and even surpasses, some might say) the original film it’s based on. Celebrate the birthday of Brundle-Fly with a big screen presentation of this modern-day classic.

Not just limited to one genre, Cronenberg’s The Fly mixes in elements of the topmost of top shelf horror, science fiction and drama.  Leading the charge is the always charismatic Jeff Golblum’s at his intense-eyed best. Goldblum stars as Seth Brundle, a scientist working on a project that could change the world forever, teleportation pods. When a test run with the devices goes horribly wrong, Brundle finds himself transforming into something not quite human. Geena Davis co-stars in this genuinely tragic exploration of a modern-day Icarus who flew too close to the sun and wound up looking like walking, talking meat loaf.
Show up early because before the film we’ll have some of our trademark awesome games and prizes. Anybody up for an arm wrestling tournament? As long as nobody juices up with fly powers and snaps their opponent’s wrist.

If you’ve never seen The Fly or if it’s been too long (and really, it’s always been too long since you’ve seen a movie this good), don’t miss this special anniversary screening of one of the best horror films ever made.

Prizes from FANGORIA and RUE MORGUE!
