Don't just trust us, don't just trust Quentin Tarantino, THE BIG GUNDOWN is not only one of the best spaghetti westerns ever made, it is one of the best films you will ever see period.

Lee Van Cleef is a rough, tough barrel of guts as a famous bounty hunter, offered a soft political career by a corrupt cattle baron if he can just bring the wily Mexican bandit Tomas Milian to justice. Van Cleef pursues Milian across Mexico and when he finally finds him he finds out the truth about his wealthy benefactor - and, subtextually, the empty and murderous nature of capitalism.

All this is wrapped in a stunningly gorgeous, action-filled package, with one of Ennio Morricone's best scores and a final showdown we will match against any ever filmed. Released uncut to American screens for the first time in a jaw-dropping digital restoration. Essential! (Lars)
