The Bat, the Cat, the Penguin. BATMAN RETURNS.

A wealthy couple (half of which is PAUL RUEBENS!) discover that they’ve birthed a deformed son, so they do what any reasonable couple would do and toss it into a freezing river. Found and raised by a pack of snappily dressed birds, the child returns to Gotham 33 years later as the criminal mastermind, The Penguin (Danny DeVito). The Penguin kidnaps Max Shreck (Christopher Walken!) and blackmails him into helping him run for mayor while simultaneously getting into cahoots with Catwoman (Michelle Pfieffer!) to publicly disgrace the caped crusader. Will Bruce Wayne fall in love with his nemesis? Can Batman save Gotham?! Find out this month in BATMAN RETURNS!

Oozing with Tim Burton’s trademark dark, brooding atmosphere, BATMAN RETURNS is Burton going FULL BURTON with the Batman franchise. Over-the-top hijinx and extremely dark character work create a gothic fairytale film out of the Batman world unlike any other director has dared to do. The casting is pitch-perfect across the board, and the light social satire with all the pulpy Batman funnery is back and turned up to 11 in this Tim Burton holiday classic. So, after you light up your tree this year, take time to sit down and watch Gotham burn! BANGARANG! (Greg MacLennan)
