Recently premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, ART HISTORY is a backstage drama starring Swanberg, Kent Osborne, and Josephine Decker. Swanberg plays a low-budget filmmaker making a sexually explicit film starring Osborne and Decker. A sexually combustible triangle forms (and ultimately becomes a rectangle), and the dynamic expands with vitriol in this subtle play about jealousy.
This film takes as its central concern the conceit of “chemistry,” both as an acting concept and a romantic one, and has awkward sex with it in front of a camera. (Daniel)
This series is sponsored in part by the Austin Film Society. They will be hosting a Moviemaker Dialogue with Swanberg on Saturday, June 4 at Austin Studios. For more info, visit their site.
