In this special Mother Daughter edition of Afternoon Tea, we invite you to bring along an important lady in your life to enjoy this glorious adaptation of the children’s classic. Mary Lennox (Kate Maberly) is, to put it nicely, a total brat, but when she is sent to the English countryside after the death of her parents, she slowly learns to appreciate life, both of the human and plant variety. Filled with gorgeous landscapes and a delicious amount of family secrets, this film is the perfect excuse to celebrate our mothers and daughters while sipping on tea and nibbling on treats. We’ll turn the theater into our own secret garden as we fall in love with Dickon (Andrew Knott), roll our eyes at Colin (Heydon Prowse) and live in respectful fear of Mrs. Medlock (the almighty Maggie Smith). (Sarah Pitre)
