At Girlie Night, we’re obviously huge fans of strong, dynamic heroines. And I’m pretty sure that no one has ever been as elegantly badass as Cate Blanchett in ELIZABETH, which is why it’s the perfect film to continue our Afternoon Tea series. This movie is packed with the classiest actors in the biz, from Geoffrey Rush to Richard Attenborough, and Joseph Fiennes handsomely performs his swoon-inducing duty.

But of course, it’s really all about Cate Blanchett. She defies societal convention, fights against power-hungry noblemen, launches military battles and still manages to look completely gorgeous the entire time. At Afternoon Tea, we’ll crown her the queen of our hearts while sipping on tea as beautifully complex as the costumes and snacking on treats as delicious as the intrigue! (Sarah Pitre)
