From the director of VARSITY BLUES and the writer of BRUCE ALMIGHTY comes a comedy about the power of speech. Jack McCall (Eddie Murphy) is a fast-talking literary agent who makes the grave mistake of screwing over a New Age guru. McCall soon discovers a magical Bodhi tree in his backyard - a tree from which one leaf falls for every word Jack speaks. Once every leaf falls, Jack's a goner, so he must learn to choose his precious words carefully and communicate through some pretty outrageous means in order to save his hide.
Co-starring the beautiful Kerry Washington (THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, RAY) and the hilarious Allison Janney (JUNO, AWAY WE GO), A THOUSAND WORDS brings Eddie Murphy back to where he belongs, cracking wise on the big screen. This quirky comedy reminds us that silence is golden and smooth-talking is overrated.
