Zombie makeovers! World War Z! It’s a zombie bash at Mason this Thursday

Zombies are taking over the Alamo Drafthouse! Join us this Thursday at Mason Park for a zombie apocalypse deep in the heart of Katy!

The night is centered around early screenings of WORLD WAR Z, the adaptation of Max Brooks’ beloved tome of zombie infestation. Brad Pitt stars as a man racing the clock to find the origins for a mysterious pandemic that is sweeping the nation. He must leave behind both his fears and his family if he wants to save the world. Meanwhile, zombies are everywhere! And these zombies don’t shuffle around graveyards, they swam! The first truly global zombie movie, WORLD WAR Z promises large-scale zombie carnage and Brad Pitt doing what he does best – looking simultaneously severely concerned and severely handsome. Screenings of WORLD WAR Z begin at 8 PM.

In addition to WORLD WAR Z, we’ll be screening THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD in 35mm on Thursday night! This classic ‘80s zombie movie is punk rock bliss – featuring an insane blend of terror and comedy from director Dan O’Bannon. When a group of horny teenagers decide to spend the night partying in a graveyard, they find their lives are forfeit when the dead begin to rise. A decidedly different zombie movie than WORLD WAR Z, we’re giving audiences a chance to make a night out of the undead with back-to-back screenings of WORLD WAR Z and RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD – in whatever order you prefer. Screenings of THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD begin at 7:30 PM.

All the while, we’re going to be offering up zombie makeovers in the lobby at Mason Park all night long. Professional makeup artists from Closed Casket Creations will be on hand to make you one of the living dead! Can we say new Facebook profile pic? These makeovers are free but tips are certainly welcome.

Can’t make it out to Mason Park on Thursday night? No worries – we’ll have Closed Casket Creations at Vintage Park on Friday, June 21 to give our North Houston fans zombie makeovers.
