We showed you ours, now show us yours

You've seen the official Alamo 100. Here's the creative manager's Alamo 100. Now, it's your turn.

We showed you ours, now show us yours

Last week, you witnessed the unveiling of the Alamo 100, our programmers' listing of their most essential films.

This week, as creative manager of One Loudoun I was challenged to make up my own Alamo 100 list with 100 titles I have watched and re-watched over the years, leaving a trail of theater seats and VHS tapes in my wake.  Here's what I came up with using letterboxdletterboxd.com is a fantastic little site that works as a social media / checklist / diary for movie lovers.  See how many of the flicks you have seen and share your thoughts on what films I was crazy enough to leave off the list.

And now a little activity to keep you busy over the holidays: Create your own Top 100 list on Letterboxd and share it with us.  We will be selecting dozens of vintage movies to show throughout 2014 from our Alamo 100 list and we'd love to have some of your suggestions.

In mid-January, we'll pull our favorite 12 lists and pick a movie from each of them to schedule throughout the year.  If your list is chosen, you and four guests will get tickets to the screening of your film.  So post your lists to our Facebook page or in the letterboxd comment section and share your favorites with us.

Our Alamo 100 schedule for January will be:

1/2 & 1/8 - Girlie Night: SIXTEEN CANDLES

1/5 - RAGING BULL

1/7 & 1/13 - RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK

1/12 - DR. STRANGELOVE

1/14 & 1/20 - MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL Quote-Along

1/19 - BRAZIL

1/23 & 1/29 - THE GOONIES Quote-Along

1/26 - CITY LIGHTS

And remember there are FREE collectible pins for every Alamo 100 feature.  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of us at Alamo Drafthouse One Loudoun!
