We're gearing up for the November 11th release of Pedro Almodóvar's much anticipated THE SKIN I LIVE IN and, no tricks here, we want to treat you to a free movie (or two) to celebrate. Starting today and until Thursday (10/31 to 11/3), we're showing his 1988 classic WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. If you're currently having your own breakdown this week and can't make it, sincere apologies and don't worry, next week we're showing his risque 2004 thriller BAD EDUCATION (11/7 - 11/10). Here's where the deal gets sweet: if you buy an advance ticket to THE SKIN I LIVE IN, you get in FREE to the two aformentioned films. All you need to do to is pick up your ticket at the box office and use that to get into all of the films. Three Almodóvar films on the big screen for the price of one.
And, because we're so damn excited about THE SKIN I LIVE IN's release, we got Executive Chef John Bullington and our new Beverage Director Bill Norris involved, and they whipped up a mouth-watering, Spanish-inspired menu specials that will be available exclusively at screenings of THE SKIN I LIVE IN during its first two weeks. Here's what's on the menu:
Oyster Mushrooms Roasted with Spanish Chorizo
Crispy Calamari with Romesco Sauce
Serrano Ham and chicken Fritters
Tomato, Leek, Almonds and Manchego in Sherry Vinegar with Herbs
Castilian Garlic Soup with Roast Shrimp
'06 Marques de Gelida Cava Brut Reserva Ecologico: 100% Organic Methode Traditionelle sparkler.
'09 Telmo Rodriguez Basa Blanco, Rudeo: This blend of Verdejo and Viura is a great introduction to crisp, refreshing Spanish white wine.
'09 Juan Gil Monastrell, Jumilla: 12 months in French Oak give depth and back bone to this classic Spanish red, made from 100% Monastrell.
A Taste of Spanish Vino: A flight of all three.
