Tickets are now on sale for OZ – THE GREAT AND POWERFUL!
OZ, the new film from director Sam Raimi (SPIDER-MAN, THE EVIL DEAD), is looking like it is going to be the biggest film so far this year. A magical prequel to THE WIZARD OF OZ that’s been getting rave reviews, OZ stars James Franco as the humbug magician from Kansas who eventually becomes the ruler of the Emerald City. Our friends at Badass Digest say the movie is the most worthy successor to L. Frank Baum’s legacy in the last 75 years.
Tickets are now on sale for OZ – THE GREAT AND POWERFUL at both Houston Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas. At Vintage Park, we’ve put the film in our largest theaters and you have your choice of seeing the movie in 2D or 3D. Either way will give you crystal clear picture and sound thanks to our state-of-the-art Sony 4K digital projectors. At Mason Park, we have a whopping 10 screenings of the film per day – offering up plenty of chances to see the movie with your family and friends during Spring Break.
We’ll have a custom OZ-themed pre-show before the movie so arrive early to see some excellent vintage WIZARD OF OZ clips and oddities. In addition, you can attend our OZ – THE GREAT AND POWERFUL Dinner Party on March 12 at Mason Park or March 13 at Vintage Park.
Each ticket to the dinner party includes the following dishes:
“There’s No Place Like Home”
Nebraska Corn Chowder, Bacon Crouton, Basil Oil
Oscar Diggs “Magical” Stuffed Pork Chop

There may not be any place like home but when it comes to seeing OZ - THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, we think you’ll agree with us when we say there’s no place like the Alamo Drafthouse to see Sam Raimi’s tribute to the Wonderful World of Oz.
