THE SOUND OF MUSIC MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH IS ONE OF OUR FAVORITE THINGS

Our May 12 Mother's Day Brunch is better than raindrops on roses.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH IS ONE OF OUR FAVORITE THINGS

When it comes to Mother’s Day, there’s nothing to do but climb every mountain, ford every stream, and follow every highway until you’ve made Mom’s day a special one.   She’s your mother! She’s the reason you exist, and she needs all the love you can give, every day of your life, for as long as you live.

But this year, we’re here to help make Mother’s Day memorable. We’ve created THE SOUND OF MUSIC Mother’s Day Brunch for May 12, at 12:00pm  that features a special menu themed around the film.  It’s a feast that’s both decadent and comforting, and when combined with this classic film, it’s the perfect afternoon to spend with Mom.

If you’ve never seen THE SOUND OF MUSIC, well, let us educate you.  It’s the cheery story of Maria (Julie Andrews), a sweetly rebellious nun who is sent to the Von Trapp household to help the widowed Captain (Christopher Plummer) care for his seven children.  Though the Captain is severe, and the children are initially terrors, Maria wins them over with clothes made of curtains, puppet shows, and singing lessons.   Naturally, the Captain falls for her as hard as his children do, and love blooms among the edelweiss.  But the invasion of the Nazis threatens their Austrian idyll.

Your ticket will include the following menu, all served to you by our team of stealthy servers:

First Course

Warm Quinoa Breakfast “Cereal” with Candied Pecans and Pear

This dish ais a kind of grown up oatmeal, lightly reminiscent of a warm muelsli, which is a popular breakfast dish in Austria. It features quinoa as the grain and primary flavor profile, which is kind of a buzz ingredient right now.

Second Course

Tea-infused Fresh Cheese with Homemade Strawberry Jam, Toast Points
.

This is a dish inspired by the line “ti a drink with jam and bread” from the “do re mi” song in the film.

Third Course

Beef Tenderloin Schnitzel, Poached Eggs, Mustard Seed Hollandaise, Asparagus Salad, Charred Cherry Tomato

Schnitzel is probably the most popular dish in Austria, in this version beef tenderloin takes center stage as the protein in a cross between a classic steak and eggs dish and a benedict style breakfast. The charred tomato and fresh asparagus salad should be a nice foil to the rich hollandaise and the meaty fried steak.

Fourth Course

Chocolate Truffles, White Hot Chocolate Shot

The family is gifted some chocolates upon arrival in Switzerland. The white hot chocolate is a slightly more interesting twist on a classic hot chocolate.

Vegetarian options and allergy adjustments are available for all feasts. Simply let us know in advance, or alert your server as soon as you sit down, and we will do our very best to accommodate you.

Tickets for THE SOUND OF MUSIC Mother’s Day Brunch are on sale now.  Act fast, because the Baroness Schroeder doesn't just have her eye on the Captain -- she has her eye on all the seats!
