SXFANTASTIC Announces Mind-Bending Midnighters at SXSW

SXFantastic, a series of midnight films programmed by Fantastic Fest, the largest genre film festival in the US, announces five titles for the South By Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival. The 2011 SXFantastic lineup continues the Fantastic Fest tradition of delivering the best and most unique action, horror, thriller, sci-fi and just plain fantastic films, from emerging talent to returning Fantastic Fest filmmaker favorites.

“We’re extremely pleased to partner with SXSW for the third year in a row and bring Fantastic Fest’s special blend of films to SXFantastic. We’re excited to welcome returning Fantastic Fest filmmakers like Ben Wheatley and to introduce festival audiences to new genre voices from at home and around the world,” says Fantastic Fest co-founder Tim League.

"We love the addition of SXFantastic to our midnight programming," said SXSW Film Conference & Festival Producer Janet Pierson. "It offers the SXSW audiences a taste of the undeniably wild and singularly out-of-this-worldness of Fantastic Fest."

SXFantastic was the home of last year's world premieres of Gareth Edward's indie genre sensation MONSTERS and the much buzzed about A SERBIAN FILM.
