In honor of National Coming Out Day the Alamo Drafthouse and AIDS Walk Austin are presenting a 35mm screening of MILK this Saturday at the Alamo Village.

Gus Van Sant's emotional biopic centers around the gay rights activist and politican Harvey Milk as he helped usher in a new era for gay acceptance and equality.

The film follows Milk (Sean Penn) from his 40th birthday in New York all the way through his tumultuous campaigns, personal life and eventual days as an elected official on the other side of the country.

The journey becomes not only Milk's but the publicly underrepresented group of gay men and women in America at this time.

This special event will be made even more special as AIDS and LGBT rights activist and one of the many who helped on Harvey Milk's campaigns Cleve Jones, who Emile Hirsch portrays in the film, will be joining us via Skype for a post-screening Q&A.

All proceeds will benefit AIDS Walk Austin!
