A couple of weeks ago, we reached out to folks on Facebook and Twitter to get feedback on the Alamo menu. Thanks to everyone who gave us notes, suggestions and comments. We reviewed them all and are incorporating many of them into the next menu rollout that will happen later this year. Stay tuned.
There was one comment, however, that was rather overwhelming, and we wanted to address it right away: the salad trays. I hear you loud and clear: you don't want salads served on metal trays with paper, you want them in bowls. I apologize for making the switch; it was my call to do it.
We felt we could address this right now and have decided to do so. Slaughter Lane has gone back to our previous salad bowls as of last weekend and the rest of the Austin market is returning to bowls this Friday. Smaller side salad bowls have been ordered and will be in Austin shortly.
The trays were an experiment (for whatever it is worth, the idea was to keep the hot protein off of the cold greens). The experiment was not well received; we're bringing back the bowl.
