ROOFTOP FILMS Accepting 2011 Submissions!

Rooftop Films is known internationally as one of the most dynamic film festivals in the world. Through 2010, they will screen more than 20 feature films, almost all of which are New York, U.S. or World Premieres. They'll also show over 150 short films in themed programs which have received accolades for being smart, entertaining, and filled with astonishing movies. This combination of brilliant, original programming and stunning outdoor venues makes Rooftop Films one of the best-attended film festivals in New York. At Rooftop Films, they bring the underground outdoors.

Every year they call out for submissions from filmmakers who may not get many opportunities to share their piece with a wide audience. If you're a filmmaker, or know others that are, and you want a great screening, submit your movies! They are currently accepting submissions for the 2011 Summer Series. In May 2011 they'll begin celebrating the 14th year of bringing the best underground films in the world outdoors and to the rooftops of New York. Submit your films and videos now and participate in one of the most unforgettable, unique, filmmaker-friendly, independent film events in the world!

The 2011 Summer Series will run from May through September and will feature more than 200 daring new films, all screened outdoors, in front of big, loyal audiences in parks, on boats, and on rooftops overlooking the greatest city in the world. More than 25,000 people attended Rooftop screenings in 2010, making it one of the most popular festivals in New York City and one of the biggest festivals for underground films in the world. The 2011 Summer Series will surely feature even bigger crowds, even more beautiful venues, and more incredible films.
