Praise Lord Baby Jesus, we’re showing Talladega Nights in August

Will Ferrell's funniest movie about NASCAR will screen twice in August at Houston-area Alamo Drafthouses. Both screenings are part of our Quote-Along series so that means plenty of funny one-liners, props and games. Audiences are also encouraged to come dressed in their best NASCAR costume. So take a sharp left around the bend for quality fun from The Action Pack.

Praise Lord Baby Jesus, we’re showing Talladega Nights in August

On this day five years ago, the world was introduced to the greatest NASCAR driver that ever strapped a logo onto his chest and made a living turning left: Ricky Bobby.

Will Ferrell is one of the greatest living comedians when it comes to creating new characters. From his work on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE to memorable performances in films such as ANCHORMAN, ELF and OLD SCHOOL, Ferrell knows how to get the maximum amount of humor out of his roles. For TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY, Ferrell turned to what could have been an easy target (the Wal-Mart culture of NASCAR fans) and created one of the greatest, hairiest avatars of Americana to ever grace the silver screen.

Ricky Bobby is everything God was thinking of when he created the American – full of pride, an over eagerness to win and a deep, unwavering love for Lord Baby Jesus.

To celebrate the man who taught us if you ain’t first, you’re last, we’re screening TALLADEGA NIGHTS twice this month – both times as Quote-Along screenings.

For those that have never been to a quote-along, we take the best lines from the movie and put them on the screen karaoke style. As the quotes are illuminated, the audience shouts them out along with Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly or whatever big hairy American winning machine is currently on the screen. In addition to the quotes, we also give audiences special props and prizes – to help make the night as interactive as possible.

The Quote-Along for TALLADEGA NIGHTS should prove to be a blast — mainly because Will Ferrell movies are, by their very nature, highly quotable. Audience members are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite NASCAR fan costume and consume plenty of the national drink of NASCAR — beer.

Tickets are now on sale for both screenings so don’t delay. It’s like Ricky Bobby always says, if you don’t buy your tickets first, you’re last. Plus, if you don’t come to this event, we’re gonna come at you like a spider monkey.
