Our second Color Commentary is with none other than the iconic badass, Pam Grier!

Color Commentary is a special event that's unique to the Alamo Drafthouse Littleton.  This is a series where we invite a talented member of the film community to offer live commentary over one of their beloved films.   The goal of this unique event is that of watching a DVD commentary with the guest right there with you, except that each evening promises never to be replicated again, as these stories and secrets will only be shared with our Alamo audience. We kicked off the series with none other than Sam Jones and FLASH GORDON, and we're excited to announce our second installment of Color Commentary with Badass Hall of Fame member Pam Grier!

The iconic Ms. Grier will join us on Monday, November 11 at 7:00 to provide live commentary over her 1977 classic, FOXY BROWN, and remain for a Q&A after.   If you missed the chance to see Ms. Grier at our grand opening, this is another fantastic oppertunity to hear her delightful, fascinating, funny, and completely unfiltered stories about being one of the toughest, fiercest chicks of the film industry.

Nominated for an Emmy, a SAG, and a Golden Globe over her long and illustrious career, Ms. Grier made an impact in a number of terrific films, but FOXY BROWN may be the most memorable and iconic. It truly defined Grier as the woman to admire, emulate, and watch in the 1970s. The titular Foxy is a sexy but streetwise lady whose ne'er-do-well brother Link (Huggy Bear Antonio Fargas) is a drug dealer who owes mobsters 20,000 dollars. To get the hoods off his back, Link names Foxy's boyfriend as a government agent trying to wipe out organized crime, and the mob soon has him rubbed out. But Hell hath no fury like Foxy Brown scorned; posing as a hooker to get the inside scoop on the mob, she goes on a crusade to find out who murdered her man, and she exacts revenge with the help of a local activist group. FOXY BROWN is not only one of Pam Grier's greatest films, it's a true standout in the incredible world of Blaxploitation filmmaking, and a landmark for action heroines in cinema.

Because Ms. Grier is a Colorado resident, and a passionate advocate of a number of charities, at her request we'll be donating all the profits from this COLOR COMMENTARY to a charitable organization of her choosing. We'll be announcing her charity pick on the night of the event.  You can rest easy knowing you're indulging in a one-of-a-kind Alamo event, and helping our Colorado community at the same time!

So join the Alamo Drafthouse Littleton and Ms. Pam Grier herself on Monday, October 11 at 7:00 for our second COLOR COMMENTARY with FOXY BROWN.  It's an experience you won't want to miss, and you won't easily forget.  Tickets are on sale now, so grab yours today!
