October events celebrate SPACE and HORROR

In October we celebrate the release of GRAVITY with space-themed movies, and we celebrate Halloween with horror films.

October events celebrate SPACE and HORROR

To celebrate the arrival of the sci-fi space spectacle GRAVITY on October 3rd, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will present a month of amazing space movies in October.  Many of these films are rarely screened in theaters.

In addition, Halloween is right around the corner.  Naturally, we had to schedule a bunch of awesome horror movies.  Sometimes these two themes intersect as well, as with screenings of ALIEN and EVENT HORIZON.  Both of these films are featured in an exciting event called the IN STITCHES WEEKEND.  It’s a weekend full of horror, sci-fi and comedy on October 18 & 19 with weekend passes available soon.  We also have a big, (mostly) family-friendly Halloween celebration on Saturday October 26 with trick-or-treating, cartoons, our annual Thrill the World event, and THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW.

Of course we have plenty of our recurring monthly events as well with three Film Club movies, two sing-alongs, Autism-Friendly screenings, and opera/ballet events.

Without further ado, here is the full listing of October events:
